UPS Truck Involved in Collision with Van
CORONA (August 9, 2018)- According to the California Highway Patrol, injuries were reported after a Toyota van and a UPS truck collided at an intersection this afternoon.
At roughly 12:59 p.m., the driver of the van allegedly collided with the rear of the UPS truck.
The van incurred significant front-end damage and was initially wedged underneath the UPS vehicle until fire department personnel arrived providing assistance.
It appeared as though the driver of the van suffered moderate injuries and was transported to a local area hospital by ambulance. It was unclear whether any passengers accompanied the motorist.
Meanwhile, there were no apparent injuries sustained by the UPS driver, however, that assumption cannot be confirmed at this time.
Circle City Towing provided the towing services helping remove the van away from the scene.

A forensic examination of each vehicle, as well as photos that were taken of the scene, will help investigators determine the cause of the accident. Authorities will thoroughly look into how fast each driver was going, whether or not alcohol or drugs were involved, and whether or not there were any mechanical issues with either vehicle. The investigation will also consist of looking at measurements of evidence left by the vehicles such as point of impact, final resting positions of each vehicle, skid marks, and gouge marks.
In such cases where negligence or wrongdoing may have been a factor, victims involved in an accident and not found liable are entitled to personal injury lawsuit against the driver pending the results of the investigation. Injured victims may seek compensation for damages including medical expenses and hospital bills and pain and suffering.
