Bicyclist, 24, Hit and Injured by Marked Police Vehicle on Fairview Road

January 13, 2019 – A traffic collision involving a bicyclist occurred Friday evening on Fairview Road, according to On Scene TV.
Marked Police Vehicle Hits Bicycle in Costa Mesa Friday
Officials said a man was riding a bicycle heading north on Fairview Road, just north of Adams Avenue, around 11:18 p.m. Under unknown circumstances, the man was reportedly struck by a marked police vehicle.
Responding paramedics treated the bicyclist on scene before transporting the man to an area trauma center. The identity of the patient remained unknown at this time.
Authorities mentioned the officer who hit the bicyclist did not sustain any injuries in the accident.
The investigators handling the case continue to work to determine exactly what happened here and why.
