COSTA MESA, California (March 24, 2016) — A driver allegedly caused a 3-vehicle collision Thursday morning after crossing multiple lanes on the Interstate 405 San Diego Freeway in an attempt to make the 73 Corona Del Mar Freeway exit in Orange County, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The crash took place about 10:24 a.m. this morning and was blocking the slow lane. A witness told authorities the driver of a silver sedan was traveling erratically at high speeds before they shot through all traffic lanes in order to avoid missing the 73 Freeway exit. A gray Jeep was struck by a sedan and a third vehicle was also possibly involved.
The Nos. 1, 2 and 3 lanes were blocked due to the crash and paramedics were sent to the scene to help anyone hurt in the crash.
