Pedestrian Hit-and-run Collisions
When a person is injured in a hit-and-run collision, it can be very painful both physically and emotionally. Not only is a person dealing with healing from injuries, but also the anger and sadness associated with the fact that someone could be so callous as to drive off and leave them without calling for help.
While there is no way to undo what has been done, there are legal remedies available to victims of this type of crime. For example, criminal charges such as felony hit-and-run may be brought against the driver as well as a separate civil lawsuit. The civil lawsuit can help a person obtain financial compensation. This is helpful as the person may have medical bills and need to take time off work during their recovery.
