1 Killed in Cota Crash on 710 Freeway Near Del Amo Boulevard
LONG BEACH, CA (January 15, 2022) – At least one was killed after a car crash on the 710 Freeway near Del Amo Boulevard in Cota.
The California Highway Patrol said the tragic accident took place on Saturday morning. Officers reported the wreck at about 10:22 a.m.
According to CHP, two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in the area of Cota. They crashed on the northbound 710 Freeway, just south of Del Amo Boulevard.
2 Cars Collide
The incident log described the cars as a Ford F-350 with trailer and a Nissan Sentra. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
They found the female driver of the Nissan unresponsive as a result of the collision. Medical personnel soon pronounced her dead.
The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the motorist in the Ford ended up hurt upon impact.
Officers forced the northbound lanes of the 710 Freeway to shut down near Del Amo following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Cota crash is still under investigation.
