Pedestrian Injured in Coto De Caza Hit-and-Run at Via Conejo and Via Pajaro
ORANGE COUNTY, CA (May 8, 2021) – A pedestrian was hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash at Via Conejo and Via Pajaro in Coto De Caza.
The California Highway Patrol received a call about the incident late Saturday morning. According to their dispatch, officers reported the accident at about 11:28 a.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason. The driver hit the person at the corner of Via Conejo and Via Pajaro in Coto De Caza.
Driver Hits Victim, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene near a dog park. They soon found the victim who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to Mission Hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid and fled the area. Officers forced the roadway to close following the accident.
Authorities are still searching for the suspect. The cause of the Coto De Caza hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
