Boy, 9, Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run at Sunshine Avenue and Main Street
EL CAJON (October 5, 2018) – The alleged hit-and-run driver who seriously injured a young bicyclist at Sunshine Avenue and Main Street Thursday has been arrested, according to San Diego Union-Tribune and FOX 5.
The suspect, 25-year-old Courtney Webber, was found hiding under a bed at her home in Lakeside.
As per the reports, police said Webber was driving a blue Honda Fit east when she ran a red light at the intersection of West Main Street and Sunshine Avenue.
Webber then drove directly into the path of a 9-year-old boy who was riding a bicycle north on Sunshine Avenue on a green light at around 7:30 a.m.

Police affirmed that the child was left unconscious with major injuries, including a significant head trauma following the crash. He was rushed to a hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, Webber did not stop to render aid and fled the scene. She was later located, taken into custody and ultimately booked into the Las Colinas Detention Facility in Santee on suspicion of felony hit-and-run with a bail set at $55,000.
