Covelo crash Highway 162
1 Seriously Injured in Covelo Crash on Highway 162 Near Hidden Oaks Park
COVELO, CA (August 20, 2022) – At least one was seriously injured after a car crash on Highway 162 near Hidden Oaks Park in Covelo.
The Lost Coast Outpost published a dispatch of the accident on Friday night. The California Highway Patrol officers reported the wreck at about 9:57 p.m.
The incident happened on August 19 when two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Covelo. They crashed on Highway 162 near the Hidden Oaks Park.
2 Cars Collide
CHP described one of the cars involved as a white Honda Accord. The sedan obtained major front-end damage and a broken left front tire upon impact.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found an occupant of the Honda hurt. The patient sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
An air ambulance then took the patient to a hospital for treatment of a broken leg. The report did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced a stretch of Highway 162 to shut down near the park following the wreck. The cause of the Covelo crash is still under investigation.
