Bicycle Rider Killed in Coyote Crash on Hale Avenue Near Blossom Court
SANTA CLARA VALLEY, CA (June 22, 2021) – A bicycle rider was killed after a crash on Hale Avenue in the Coyote community.
According to an article published by the East Bay Times, the tragic collision took place on Saturday morning. Officers reported the accident at about 7:40 a.m.
The incident happened on June 19 when a 51-year-old San Jose woman was riding a Schwinn bicycle on Hale Avenue in Coyote. At the same time, a 2003 Honda was going south.
For an unknown reason, the car veered onto the shoulder north of Blossom Court. The California Highway Patrol said in the process, the Honda struck the bicyclist.

The rider ended up thrown from the bicycle as a result of the collision. Firefighters along with the paramedics responded and pronounced her dead at the scene.
Her name remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the 26-year-old Morgan Hill man driving the car stopped after hitting the victim.
Officials forced a portion of Hale Avenue to shut down for a time following the bicycle accident. The cause of the fatal Coyote crash is still under investigation.
