Craig Mitchell, 73, Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Phelan Road
PHELAN, CA (October 27, 2022) – Craig Mitchell was killed after a pedestrian crash on Phelan Road in the community of Phelan.
The coroner’s office identified the 73-year-old man as the victim of the fatal accident which took place on Wednesday night.
The incident happened when a semi-truck hit Craig Mitchell for an unknown reason in Phelan. The California Highway Patrol said the big rig struck him on Phelan Road, just east of Caughling Road.

Firefighters along with the then paramedics arrived and found the man down on the ground. The Victor Valley News wrote that the collision occurred on October 26 at about 8:17 p.m.
Medical personnel soon pronounced Craig Mitchell dead at the scene of the pedestrian accident. Meanwhile, CHP added that two semi-trucks stopped following the incident.
Officers forced a stretch of the road to shut down for a time after the collision. The cause of the Phelan pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
