Crash Fatality at Gyle Road and Rawson Road in Tehama County
Melissa Sides Dies After Collision at Intersection
TEHAMA COUNTY, Calif. (Dec. 11, 2024) — Melissa Sides, 46, died four days after a multi-vehicle crash at Gyle Road and Rawson Road near Richfield in Tehama County.
The three-vehicle traffic accident occurred in front of 21815 Gyle Road at around 11:46 a.m. on Dec. 4th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Melissa Sides was driving southbound on Rawson Road in a 2022 Jeep Compass when she collided with an eastbound 2024 Chevrolet pickup truck traveling on Gyle Road.
The driver of the Jeep failed to stop at the intersection and collided into the pickup truck driven by Leng Seng, police said. The pickup truck veered off the roadway, crashed through a fence, and wound up in a field.
Meanwhile, the Jeep continued traveling in the same direction before crashing into the front of a Dodge Ram stopped at the intersection.
The Jeep had major front-end damage following the crash. The Tehama County Fire Department responded and located at least three people with injuries.
Melissa Sides had major injuries and was airlifted to Mercy Medical Center where she later died on Dec. 8th.
Two others reportedly had moderate injuries from the crash.
