Bicyclist Killed in Exposition Park Hit-and-Run Identified
LOS ANGELES (July 25, 2019) – Cristian Mendez Ramos, 24, has been identified as the bicyclist killed Saturday night after an alleged hit-and-run crash in the area of Jefferson Boulevard and Denker Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner.
The fatal hit-and-run took place about 10:30 p.m. on July 20 in the vicinity of Exposition Park.
The Los Angeles Police Department stated that the victim was riding a bicycle with his girlfriend on Jefferson Boulevard at Denker Avenue when for an unknown reason he was struck by a vehicle. His girlfriend witnessed the horrible crash and told police that the driver was speeding down Jefferson westbound when the crash occurred.
Paramedics responded to find Ramos suffering from life-threatening injuries and they transported him to a hospital where he later died.
The suspect’s car was described as a dark colored sedan.
The young man who died was described by his cousin as a Christian, who worked as a personal trainer and was black belt certified. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the LAPD at 877-527-3247 or submit anonymous tips to L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
