
Cristoval Rubio, 21, Badly Injured in Tehama County Crash at South and Mary Avenues
TEHAMA COUNTY, CA (March 24, 2023) – Cristoval Rubio was badly injured after a crash at South Avenue and Mary Avenue in Tehama County.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 21-year-old Chico man as one of the victims in the wreck which took place on Thursday.
The incident happened when Cristoval Rubio was driving a 2001 Mitsubishi east on South Avenue, approaching Mary Avenue, in Tehama County.
At the same time, a 1999 Chevrolet and a 2018 Jeep were traveling west. For an unknown reason, the vehicles ahead of the Chevrolet and Jeep abruptly slowed.
Multiple Cars Involved in Wreck
CHP said the Jeep veered to the right while the Chevrolet swerved to the left. In the process, the Chevrolet collided with the Mitsubishi.
Debris from the collision then struck the Jeep. The Action News Now wrote that the accident occurred on March 23 shortly before 8 a.m. at the intersection.
Cristoval Rubio sustained moderate injuries as a result of the crash. Paramedics rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment.
Medical personnel provided aid to the driver of the Jeep for the minor injuries they sustained in the accident. Meanwhile, CHP forced the area of South and Mary avenues to shut down following the wreck.
The cause of the Tehama County crash is still under investigation.
