Small Airplane Struck a Ford F-150 Pickup in Pleasant Grove
SUTTER COUNTY, Calif. – A crop duster struggling upon liftoff struck a Ford F-150 Tuesday morning in the Pleasant Grove area of Sutter County.
It happened on Tuesday, June 25th after the single-engine RC-3 aircraft was unable to generate enough lift and clipped a fence before hitting a woman’s Ford F-150 pickup truck, KOLO News reports.
The woman, who is a nurse, was helped out of her vehicle from bystanders and went to check on the pilot. The pilot of the crop duster plane appeared to be unharmed, the CHP said.
There were no serious injuries reported, but the driver of the Ford identified as Dee Arata, 41, of Yuba City, was taken to a hospital for precautionary purposes.
Both the plane and the pickup truck had significant damage and were towed.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating.
