Pedestrian Struck, Killed on Crows Landing Road in Stanislaus County
CROWS LANDING, Calif. (Oct. 4, 2021) — A fatal pedestrian accident happened early Monday on Crows Landing Road in Stanislaus County.
UPDATE: Anthony Lucero, 26, of, Oakdale is identified as the pedestrian killed on Crows Landing Road.
The collision happened about 5:47 a.m. on Oct. 4th near Clausen Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP reported a driver struck the pedestrian due to unknown circumstances. Police did not mention what led up to the collision in this rural community, just east of Patterson and west of Turlock.
Paramedics responded, but it appears that the person died on scene. Police did not provide the age or gender of the pedestrian. Also, the victim’s uncle Joseph Thayer reportedly witnessed the collision, the report said.
The CHP report does not mention if the involved motorist stopped following the pedestrian accident. Also, police did not mention the type of vehicle.
Meanwhile, investigators seek to determine the cause and liability for the deadly collision.
