
Two Injured in Collision on Pomona Freeway
DIAMOND BAR, Calif. (July 1, 2024) – Crystal Cruz Robledo, 19, died and two people were hurt in a multi-vehicle crash on the Pomona (60) Freeway in Diamond Bar.
The traffic accident occurred at around 3:07 a.m. on Saturday, June 29th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a black Tesla and a Honda Civic were involved. The Honda overturned onto its roof on the eastbound 60 Freeway at South Lemon Avenue, just east of Fairway Drive.
The vehicles were blocking the middle lanes of the freeway and some people were trapped in the wreckage. Firefighters responded and extricated victims using the Jaws of Life. .
The young woman suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner later identified the victim as Crystal Cruz Robledo.
Meanwhile, firefighters and paramedics transported two other people with injuries to a hospital, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Finally, police issued a Sigalert at 3:24 a.m. and closed down all eastbound lanes of the freeway, but it was later canceled at 7:28 a.m.
The case remains under investigation.
