Crystal Ruby Soto, 18, Fatally Struck by Vehicle on 60 Freeway Wednesday
Monterey Park, CA (April 28, 2021) – 18-year-old Crystal Ruby Soto died following a suspected hit-and-run collision on Interstate 60 Freeway Wednesday.
The Press Telegram News reported Crystal Soto was driving a Honda Accord heading west on I-60. In the area just east of Markland Drive, the teen driver lost control of the car and veered to the left side of the freeway. The Honda eventually smashed into the center divider.
Preliminary investigation revealed the Honda became disabled after the incident. Subsequently, Crystal Soto and her three passengers got out of the wreckage and ran across the freeway. In the process, a vehicle of unknown make and model struck Crystal Soto.

The collision resulted in fatal injuries to the Honda driver, officials confirmed. Responding paramedics sadly pronounced Crystal Soto dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, officials mentioned the driver who struck the fatal victim, and the other occupants in the car fled the scene before police arrived. No immediate information was available on the hit-and-run suspects.
Further investigation on the case is underway.
