Head-on Collision on Rough and Ready Highway
ROUGH AND READY, Calif. (July 17, 2024) — A Tesla Cybertruck and several SUVs were involved in a head-on crash Wednesday on Rough and Ready Highway in Nevada County.
The multi-vehicle collision occurred at around 8:44 a.m. on July 17th, near Rex Reservoir Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Cybertruck and a Ford Explorer or white Expedition SUV were involved. Other vehicles may have been involved or pulled over including a white Toyota RAV4 SUV, a brown Chevrolet Tahoe SUV, and a white Chevrolet Tahoe SUV, the report said. The RAV4 and Tesla were off the roadway and one vehicle wound up facing the wrong way on the right side. At least two of the vehicles crashed head-on and at least one person reported minor to moderate injuries.
Paramedics responded to the injured people, but there are no further details at this time.
Meanwhile, tow trucks responded to remove the Cybertruck, the Ford SUV, and debris from the roadway.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the Cybertruck crash in Rough and Ready.
