Woman Killed in Fresno Crash is Identified
FRESNO, Calif. (August 19, 2022) — Cynthia Vang, 30, of Fresno, died Thursday in a collision on Church Avenue between West and Huges avenues.
The crash occurred about 3:15 p.m. on August 18th, according to the Fresno Area California Highway Patrol (CHP) Communications Center.
A 41-year-old man in a Cadillac Escalade was traveling westbound on Church Avenue when the vehicle reportedly crashed into the back of a Kia, police said.
A 31-year-old man driving the Kia was waiting in the westbound lanes for an eastbound GMC van to pass before making a left-turn into his residence. Cynthia Vang was his passenger in the Kia.
Upon impact, the Kia was pushed forward into the oncoming GMC van driven by a 63-year-old man. The GMC crashed into the passenger side of the Kia. Cynthia Vang was seated in the front passenger seat and suffered major injuries in the crash. Paramedics took her to Community Regional Medical Center where she later died.
