Cynthia Wright, 56, Killed in Orangevale Hit-and-Run Crash on Greenback Lane
ORANGEVALE, CA (August 21, 2022) – Cynthia Wright was killed after a hit-and-run crash on Greenback Lane in Orangevale.
Family members identified the 56-year-old Citrus Heights woman as the victim of the fatal collision which took place earlier this month.
The incident happened when Cynthia Wright was walking northbound on Greenback Lane in Orangevale. At the same time, a vehicle was going west.
For an unknown reason, the driver struck her. The California Highway Patrol said the pedestrian was hit west of Walnut Avenue.
Driver Hits Pedestrian, Flees Scene
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid and fled the area. They described the car a dark maroon or brown 2007-2008 Honda Element.
The left front corner of the vehicle ended up damaged after hitting the victim. Officers are still searching for the hit-and-run suspect who left Cynthia Wright in the roadway.
The cause of the Orangevale hit-and-run crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the East Sacramento CHP office at 916-464-1450.
