Bicycle Rider Dac Them Kieu, 73, Killed in Fountain Valley Crash
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA (July 5, 2022) – A bicycle crash killed Dac Them Kieu near Garfield Avenue and Brookhurst Street in Fountain Valley.
Police identified the 73-year-old man as the victim of the fatal collision which took place on Tuesday morning.
The incident happened when Dac Them Kieu was riding a bicycle east on Garfield Avenue, approaching Brookhurst Street, in Fountain Valley. A Ford F-350 was traveling in the same direction at the time.
The pickup truck then made a left turn onto northbound Brookhurst. Police said in the process, the car and the bicyclist collided.

The Patch and My News LA wrote that the accident occurred shortly before 7 a.m. Dac Them Kieu sustained critical injuries as a result of the bicycle collision.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and soon rushed him to a hospital, where he died. Meanwhile, the 65-year-old Huntington Beach man driving the Ford stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the cyclist.
Officers forced the area of Garfield and Brookhurst to shut down for a time following the crash. The cause of the Fountain Valley bicycle incident is still under investigation.
