Dahlene Martin-Lovelace, 56, Killed by Driver High on Marijuana
WEST COVINA (June 11, 2018) – A pedestrian severely injured after an alleged DUI hit-and-run accident last week Thursday on Merced Avenue has died, according to San Gabriel Valley Tribune.
Coroner’s office identified the victim as 56-year-old Dahlene Martin-Lovelace, of West Covina.
As per the article, police said Martin-Lovelace was walking in the 1100 block of East Merced Avenue when she was struck by a vehicle. The collision took place on June 7 at 5:35 a.m.

Martin-Lovelace was immediately taken to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries on Saturday afternoon, June 9.
Meanwhile police affirmed that the driver involved did not stop to render aid and fled west on Merced. The suspect, 21-year-old Dominic Orozco, crashed through a wall and came to a stop in a front yard at Neff and Merced avenues.
The La Puente man sustained minor wounds and was arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run and driving under the influence of marijuana. He was arraigned Monday and pleaded not guilty to a felony count of hit-and-run resulting in death or serious injury to another person.
