2 Dead, 3 Badly Hurt in Highway 24 Crash in Walnut Creek
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. (August 13, 2018) — Dakarai Rishon Fagorala, 17, and John Hamed Walizadam, 18, were killed in a suspected DUI crash Sunday morning that also left the driver and two young women injured on Highway 24, at the Mount Diablo Boulevard exit, according to a report by ABC7 News. The crash took place at 4:01 a.m. in the morning.
The young people were riding in a vehicle driven by suspected DUI driver Ramya Ramey, 18, of Antioch. The Honda Civic reportedly was traveling eastbound on Highway 24 towards the northbound Interstate 680 Freeway when it plunged off a connector ramp down onto Boulevard Circle below. It’s unknown what circumstances led to the vehicle crashing, but this is under investigation.
The two young men who were in the vehicle died at the scene. The teenage girls, who are from Antioch and Oakley, were taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. Ramey, a recent graduate from Deer Valley High School, suffered major injuries and was also hospitalized.
The crash remains under investigation by police.

At this time, an investigation is underway to determine whether or not the driver of this vehicle was intoxicated or had alcohol or drugs in their system.
