Daljit Singh Fatal Crash Riego Road in Sutter County

Semi-Truck, SUV Crash on Riego Road

SUTTER COUNTY, Calif. (Oct. 4, 2023) — Daljit Singh, 72, of Sacramento, died Tuesday night in a collision with a semi-truck on West Riego Road in Sutter County.

The two-vehicle collision occurred at around 6 p.m. on Oct. 3rd in the Pleasant Grove area, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Two vehicles were involved in the collision including the Sacramento man’s white Nissan Rogue and a blue wide load semi-tractor trailer truck, according to the Appeal Democrat.

It’s unknown what led up to the traffic accident that left the Nissan in a ditch on the side of the roadway. The truck was blocking traffic lanes after the crash and Caltrans requested the northbound ramp to Riego be closed down.

The California Highway Patrol is heading up the investigation.
