Dallas Starnes, Suspect in DUI Crash, Arrested
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (Feb. 26, 2021) — Dallas Starnes, 41, of Banning, allegedly caused a head-on crash at Highland Avenue and Day Creek Boulevard and fled the scene into a nearby home.
Police arrested the driver and booked him at West Valley Detention Center following the Feb. 21st crash. He was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
The motorist allegedly drifted in front of an eastbound driver on Highland Avenue. The two vehicles collided head-on and Dallas Starnes exited the vehicle and was confronted by the victim. The victim chased the suspect who ran off and jumped several walls into a residential neighborhood, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. He was seen by witnesses being pushed out of a home by its owner and was also seen running into a open garage.
Meanwhile, police responded and began searching for the suspect and eventually located him.
Police detained Starnes and later took a sample of his blood to check for alcohol consumption.
