2-Vehicle Collision on I-5 Freeway in South Orange County
ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. (Nov. 22, 2024) — A crash involving two vehicles happened Friday on the northbound Interstate 5 Freeway, just north of Camino de Estrella in Dana Point.
The traffic accident occurred around 2:15 p.m. on Nov. 22nd, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials report the drivers of a grey Subaru Outback and a white sedan were involved. The Subaru was blocking the HOV and No. 1 lanes and smoke was coming from the hood. CHP officials reported it could catch on fire.
One of the vehicles had front-end damage after the collision.
Paramedics responded to help anyone hurt, but it’s unknown if there were any immediate injuries that required hospitalization.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the crash on the 5 Freeway in Dana Point.
