Semi-Truck, Car Crash on I-5 Freeway in Dana Point Area
DANA POINT, Calif. (July 16, 2021) — A Dana Point truck accident happened today on the southbound Interstate 5 Freeway just south of Camino de Estrella.
A white Toyota sedan reportedly crashed underneath a silver big rig truck collided about 5:28 a.m. on July 16th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
It’s unknown what led up to the two-vehicle collision between the truck and car at this time.
Meanwhile, the Orange County Fire Authority responded to treat those hurt, and possibly, transport the injured to hospitals.
The big rig truck driver had complaints of pain, but the CHP report does not mention the extent of injuries involved with the driver in the car.
The 3-axle truck hauling 65,000 pounds was still drivable, but a tow truck removed the white Toyota.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash and liability. There are no further details about the collision at this time, but this will be updated.
