Dane Terry, 67, Killed in San Carlos Crash at Navajo and Bisby
SAN CARLOS, CA (February 16, 2023) – Dane Terry was killed after a crash at Navajo Road and Bisby Lake Avenue in San Carlos.
Police identified the 67-year-old El Cajon man as the victim in the fatal wreck which took place on Monday.
The incident happened when Dane Terry was riding a red 1986 Yamaha SRX-6 motorcycle west on Navajo Road, approaching Bisby Lake Avenue, in San Carlos. He was headed to work at the time.
Police said a 2020 Kia Soul traveling on Bisby Lake, for an unknown reason, then ran a red light at the intersection. In the process, the car struck the motorcyclist.
Driver Runs Red Light, Hits Motorcyclist
The rider ended up ejected from his bike as a result of the accident. The San Diego Union Tribune and ABC 10 News wrote that the collision occurred on February 13 shortly before 6 a.m.
Dane Terry sustained life-threatening injuries following the crash. Paramedics rushed him to the Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he died.
Loved ones set up a GoFundMe page to help cover the funeral expenses of the local musician. The cause of the San Carlos crash is still under investigation.
Meanwhile, police soon arrested the 51-year-old woman driving the Kia on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter.
