Big Rig Hits, Kills Motorcyclist on 15 Freeway Near State Route 76
Pala Mesa, CA (September 19, 2021) – On September 15, 36-year-old Daniel Boyd suffered fatal injuries following a traffic collision that occurred on the Interstate 15 Freeway.
The San Diego Union-Tribune reported Daniel Boyd was riding a motorcyclist heading south on the freeway. In the area just past State Route Highway 76, the rider apparently switched lanes to avoid traffic.
Officials said Daniel Boyd accidentally crashed into the back of a tractor trailer. The force from the impact resulted in life-threatening injuries to the motorcyclist.

Shortly after 11:30 a.m., medical personnel arrived at the location. Paramedics rushed the injured rider to a hospital, where he later sadly died. The San Diego Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the identity of the deceased as Daniel Robert Boyd, of Riverside.
The operator of the big rig appeared unharmed after the crash. Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
