Merced Man, 27, Fatal Victim in Traffic Collision Near Floral Avenue Monday
Selma, CA (October 26, 2021) – Daniel Davis, a 27-year-old Merced resident, died following a car crash that occurred on Highway 99 on October 25.
According to Your Central Valley News, Daniel Davis was sitting in his disabled car in the center divider of the highway in Fresno County. The obstruction on the roadway caused traffic to move slowly in the area near Floral Avenue.
The article published online mentioned a truck approached the slow-moving traffic. Preliminary investigation revealed the 65-year-old truck operator hit his brakes. However, the driver was unable to slow dow in time; and ended up slamming into the back of the disabled car.
Daniel Davis Dies in Selma Car and Truck Crash on Highway 99
Due to the force from the impact, Daniel Davis suffered fatal injuries as a result of the wreck. It remained unclear whether the man died at the scene, or at the hospital.
Meanwhile, the truck driver reportedly appeared unharmed after the incident.
Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to work to determine liability in the deadly car crash on Highway 99 in Selma.
