Crash on State Route 79 in San Gorgonio Pass Area
SAN GORGONIO PASS, Calif. (March 21, 2023) — Daniel Franco, 25, of Beaumont, was found dead Monday afternoon following a collision on Highway 79, just north of Gilman Springs Road in the San Gorgonio Pass area.
The collision occurred in the southbound lanes of State Route 79 and the victim was found deceased around 4:36 p.m. on March 20th, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch report. His actual time of death and date of death is unknown, according to a report by The Patch.
The black GMC Yukon SUV reportedly went down an embankment roughly 200 feet and overturned. Fire fighters with CAL Fire Riverside responded and located Daniel Franco, but sadly he had already died before they arrived around 4:51 p.m.
Meanwhile, a search team was looking to see if there were any others from the vehicle, but there are no further details. Authorities are seeking the public’s help to find out if another motorist witnessed the crash or if they left the scene.
The young man was identified by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department as Daniel Franco.
The collision remains under investigation.
