Man Killed, 2 Injured in Fiery Irvine Crash on the Interstate 5
ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. (Oct. 27, 2022) — Daniel Franco, 59, of Lake Forest, died in an Irvine collision last month involving two cars and an overturned semi-truck on the Interstate 5 Freeway at Jamboree Road.
The 3-vehicle crash occurred about 4:08 a.m. on Sept. 24th, according to the Orange County Fire Authority and OC Register. Apparently, the two cars collided first and the semi-truck crashed into one of the cars shortly after and became engulfed in flames.
Police and paramedics with the OCFA responded to the southbound I-5 Freeway where they located the fiery crash.
Sadly, Daniel Franco suffered fatal injuries at the scene.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported two other people to the hospital in stable condition.
Authorities closed down the southbound lanes of the I-5 Freeway as well as the carpool and fast lanes on the northbound side for several hours, the California Highway Patrol said.
Investigators continue to work on the case and will determine fault for the Irvine crash.
