Daniel Gene Lee, 41, Suspect in Gold Hill DUI Crash on Lotus Road
EL DORADO COUNTY, CA (August 12, 2021) – Authorities detained Daniel Gene Lee after a DUI crash on Lotus Road in Gold Hill.
The California Highway Patrol determined that the 41-year-old Shingle Springs man was under the influence when the wreck occurred earlier this month.
The incident began when Daniel Gene Lee was driving a Ford Ranger south on Lotus Road in the Gold Hill community. At the same time, a Kia Soul was going north.
2 Seriously Injured in Head-On Collision
CHP said the Ford Ranger then slammed head-on into the Kia. The two occupants of the Kia sustained major injuries a result of the collision.
The Mountain Democrat wrote that the accident took place on August 5 at about 6:35 p.m. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and rushed the victims to a hospital for treatment.
Medical personnel also took Daniel Lee to the Marshall Hospital with unspecified injuries. Officers soon arrested and booked him into the a jail in lieu of a $325,000 bail.
They charged Daniel Lee with driving under the influence with prior DUI convictions. The Gold Hill DUI crash is still under investigation.
