Daniel Guerrero, 23, Killed in South Gate Crash on Firestone Boulevard
SOUTH GATE, CA (May 18, 2021) – Daniel Guerrero was killed after a car crash on Firestone Boulevard in South Gate.
Family members identified the 23-year-old Cudahy man as the victim of the fatal wreck which took place on Sunday evening.
The incident happened on May 16 when a Dodge Charger and a BMW were allegedly street racing on Firestone Boulevard, just east of Alameda Street.
Street Racing Factor in Car Collision
South Gate police said the Dodge spun out of control and then struck the car Daniel Guerrero was driving. The Charger became fully engulfed in flames as a result of the collision.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded and pronounced Daniel Guerrero and the driver of the Dodge dead at the scene. KTLA News wrote that the accident occurred at around 7:45 p.m.
Loved ones set up a GoFundMe page to help cover the funeral expenses of Guerrero. Meanwhile, police believed that the motorist in the BMW did not stop and left the area following the fiery wreck.
The tragic South Gate crash is still under investigation.
