Daniel Trippel, 39, Arrested For DUI Hit-and-Run in Alexander Valley Road Crash

SONOMA COUNTY, CA (June 18, 2021) – Authorities detained Daniel Trippel after a DUI hit-and-run crash on Alexander Valley Road in Sonoma County.

The California Highway Patrol determined that the 39-year-old Healdsburg man was under the influence of drugs when the wreck occurred.

The incident began when Daniel Trippel was operating a white Chevrolet work truck east on Alexander Valley Road toward State Route 128.

CHP said he then crossed into the opposing lane and sideswiped a Toyota Rav4. He did not stop, continued eastbound and ran two more vehicles off the road.

Woman Badly Injured in Car Collision

Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the woman driving the Toyota who sustained moderate injuries as a result of the collision. Officials did not disclose her name.

Meanwhile, the work truck went off the road and slammed into in a metal guardrail near Lone Pine Road. CHP found its driver intoxicated and unharmed inside the Chevrolet.

Officers soon arrested Daniel Trippel on suspicion of felony DUI involving drugs and causing injury. They charged him with felony hit-and-run causing injury and possession of drugs.

Authorities booked him at Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance. He is also accused of being an addict driving a vehicle and driving on a suspended license.

The Press Democrat wrote that the accident took place on Tuesday, June 15, at around 8:40 p.m. The Sonoma County DUI hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
