Darin Rogers ID’d as Suspect in Redding DUI Crash at Oasis and Akrich
REDDING, CA (July 18, 2022) – Authorities detained Darin Rogers after a DUI crash at Oasis Road and Akrich Street in Redding.
Police determined that the 61-year-old Shasta Lake City man was under the influence of alcohol and marijuana when the wreck took place on Sunday.
The incident happened when Darin Rogers was driving a Dodge Ram north on Old Oregon Trail in Redding. At the same time, a Ford Focus was going west on Oasis Road, approaching Akrich Street.
Police said his pickup truck then hit the other car in the intersection. The Action News Now and KRCRTV News wrote that the collision occurred on July 17 at about 8:09 a.m.
Man, 30, Critically Injured in Wreck
The driver of the Ford, a 30-year-old man, ended up suffering from life-threatening injuries as a result of the accident. Paramedics rushed him to the UC Davis Medical Center in critical condition.
The report did not release the name of the wounded victim. Meanwhile, police arrested Darin Rogers on felony DUI charges and causing bodily harm following the crash .
Officers soon booked the suspect into the Shasta County Jail. The Redding DUI crash is still under investigation.
