Driver Killed in Antelope Valley Crash
ANTELOPE VALLEY, Calif. (June 18, 2021) — Darryl Hatcher, 59, of La Canada Flintridge, died Saturday night in a motorcycle collision with another rider on the Aerospace (14) Highway in the Antelope Valley.
The motorcyclist reportedly struck another motorcycle from behind on the freeway, just south of Avenue A, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Additionally, the fatal Antelope Valley crash happened about 11:49 p.m. Saturday, July 12, on the southbound Aerospace Highway, police said.
Two Motorcycles Collide on Aerospace (14) Highway
Hatcher was riding on a 2018 Indian Chieftain Elite and rear-ended a 2017 Harley-Davidson Road Glide, the CHP said. Upon impact, both of the motorcycles overturned and ejected the two riders off the bikes. Sadly, Darryl Hatcher died at the scene of the collision, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the other motorcycle rider to Antelope Valley Hospital with moderate injuries, according to the Antelope Valley News. The 47-year-old Los Angeles man is expected to survive his injuries.
Also, police closed down both southbound and northbound lanes due to the crash, but later reopened them about 4:20 a.m. Sunday, June 13, the CHP said.
