Darwin Dantzler, 39, Kills Pedestrian in Playa Del Rey Hit-and-Run Crash
LOS ANGELES, CA (September 15, 2021) – Authorities detained Darwin Dantzler after a hit-and-run crash that killed a woman in Playa del Rey.
Police identified the 39-year-old Inglewood man as the suspect in the fatal collision which took place on Saturday night.
The incident began when Darwin Dantzler was driving a dark-colored Toyota 4Runner on Vista Del Mar in Playa del Rey. At the same time, a mother and her son was crossing the street to get to their car.
For an unknown reason, the SUV then struck 33-year-old Wendy Galdamez Palma and her 3-year-old child in the 8800 block of Vista Del Mar.

Police said the Downey woman tried to protect her baby and shielded him as the vehicle hit them. KTLA News and FOX LA News wrote that the accident occurred on September 11 at about 10:33 p.m.
Paramedics arrived and pronounced Wendy Galdamez Palma dead at the scene. The juvenile sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon rushed the young victim to an area hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, police affirmed that Darwin Dantzler did not stop to render aid to the victims and fled the area.
The Playa del Rey hit-and-run crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the LAPD’s West Traffic Division at 213-473-0022.
