David and Connie Weatherford Killed Escondido Crash on Citracado Parkway

ESCONDIDO, Calif. (April 13, 2026) — David Weatherford, 80, and his wife, Connie Weatherford, 79, were both killed in a two-vehicle car accident last week on Citracado Parkway in Escondido, authorities confirmed.

The deadly collision occurred on April 7th around 1 p.m. Tuesday on Citracado Parkway, just southwest of Interstate 15 and state Route 78. According to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office, the sedan driven by Connie Weatherford collided with another vehicle under circumstances that remain under investigation.

Paramedics transported both victims to Palomar Medical Center. David Weatherford was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, while Connie Weatherford succumbed to her injuries the following afternoon, around 2 p.m. The couple lived in the city of Escondido.

No additional details about the other vehicle or those involved have been released. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
