2 Injured in Cotati DUI Crash at Old Redwood Highway and Valparaiso Avenue
COTATI (July 8, 2019) – Two were injured, one seriously, after an alleged DUI crash in the area of Old Redwood Highway and Valparaiso Avenue Sunday evening.
Police said 66-year-old David Bush was allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed when he slammed his black Porsche into a Subaru.
The Sebastopol man was approaching the intersection when he ran into the Subaru which was stopped at the traffic light. The Subaru was ultimately forced into an oncoming Acura.
Rancho Adobe firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and attended to the driver of the Subaru and a passenger of the Porsche who were both hurt as a result of the collision.
Suspect David Bush, 66, Arrested For DUI
According to The Press Democrat, the two patients were then rushed to the hospital where one of them was treated for major injuries. Their names and condition were not disclosed.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that Bush was driving under the influence of alcohol when the wreck occurred at about 7:03 p.m.
He was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI and was ultimately booked into Sonoma County Jail with a bail set at $100,000. The investigation is ongoing.
