Man Riding Mobility Scooter Killed in Escondido Hit-and-run Crash
ESCONDIDO, Calif. (Oct. 11, 2021) — David Cisneros, 72, of Escondido, died early Sunday following an Escondido pedestrian accident on East Valley Parkway.
The deadly crash happened about 9:34 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9th on East Valley Parkway, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.
David Cisneros was attempting to cross East Valley Parkway in an unmarked part of the road. The man was riding his mobility scooter as he traveled eastbound on East Valley Parkway. A driver reportedly struck the victim and fled the scene. Meanwhile, a law enforcement officer patrolling the area witnessed the incident and called for paramedics.
David Cisneros Dies at Hospital
Emergency medical crews arrived at the scene and quickly transported David Cisneros to Palomar Medical Center Emergency Department.
Sadly, the victim was diagnosed with multiple injuries and despite efforts by doctors at the hospital, he died at 12:18 a.m. on Oct. 10th.
Finally, investigators with the San Diego Police Department are working on locating the suspect who fled.
