David East and Linda Hancock Victims in Susanville Crash on State Route 139
SUSANVILLE, CA (October 8, 2022) – A crash left David East and Linda Hancock injured on State Route 139 in Susanville.
The California Highway Patrol identified the two drivers as victims in the wreck which took place on Friday.
The incident happened when David East and Linda Hancock were driving their cars north on State Route 139 in Susanville. At the same time, Brian Madison was going south.
For an unknown reason, 59-year-old Madison crossed over into northbound traffic. The Portland, Oregon man then slammed head-on into the vehicle of East, 68.
Brian Madison Seriously Hurt in Wreck
Hancock, 73, traveling behind East failed to stop, and in the process struck the back of the Loleta man’s car. The three vehicles crashed five miles south of Termo Grasshopper Road.
The Action News Now wrote that the accident occurred October 7 at around 8:13 a.m. David East sustained multiple cuts and possible broken bones while Linda Hancock obtained possible broken arm or wrist following the crash.
Paramedics rushed the man to the Mercy Medical Center in Redding for treatment. Medical personnel took the Reno, Nevada woman to the Banner Lassen Medical Center in Susanville.
A helicopter flew Madison to a medical center in Reno with chest pain and multiple cuts. Meanwhile, CHP forced the northbound lanes of State Route 139 to shut down following the wreck.
The cause of the Susanville crash is still under investigation.
