David Etling, 18, Victim in Petaluma DUI Crash
DATE OF INCIDENT: Friday, May 4th
May 7, 2018- According to the Press Democrat, David Etling, 18, of Petaluma, has been identified as the young teen fatally injured following a DUI crash Friday evening on Valley Ford Road.
Etling was a passenger along with Alejandro Hernandez, 18, inside the vehicle of Isidro Antonio Moya, 19, of Santa Rosa, who had been driving a 2007 Infinity.
As Moya sped east on Valley Ford Road, he was involved in a collision with a Lexus with an elderly driver and passenger on board.
The wreck tragically left David Etling with fatal injuries as he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Alejandro Hernandez, 18, Seriously Injured
Meanwhile, Moya’s other passenger Alejandro Hernandez was seriously hurt and rushed to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
Per the Press Democrat, the driver and passenger of the Lexus were also seriously hurt and rushed to Santa Rosa Memorial for their injuries.
California Highway Patrol officials confirmed that Moya had indeed been under the influence at the time of the accident. He has since been arrested after being taken to a hospital for treatment and remains in jail and Sonoma County Jail.
