David Jackson, 29, Struck, Killed in Hit-and-run Pedestrian Accident
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (August 30, 2018) — A 29-year-old Sacramento man identified as David Edward Lee Jackson died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident Thursday morning as he crossed Florin Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fatal hit-and-run crash, which took place about 1:30 a.m. this morning, is under investigation by the CHP. The collision took place near Bowling Drive when he was struck in the far left lane by a vehicle, the CHP dispatch report said. The man was thrown into the center media and he struck a tree. The victim died of his injuries at the scene. The driver in an older-model green, Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck fled the scene. A witness told authorities the vehicle had minor front-end damage.
The victim was identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.

Police are searching for the suspect who fled without stopping to help the injured man. Hopefully, the hit-and-run driver will feel remorse and turn themselves in to police or someone will come forward with information that will help police find them.
