Driver Killed in Fresno Crash Identified as David Lopez
FRESNO, Calif. (April 5, 2021) — David Lopez, 27, of Fresno, died Friday morning in a Fresno collision with a container truck at Howard and Ashlan avenues.
The fatal crash happened about 4 a.m. on April 5th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Additionally, the CHP said David Lopez reportedly collided with the truck near Biola in Western Fresno County.
Fresno Coroner Identifies Driver Killed in Crash
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office identified the young man as the victim.
Meanwhile, it’s unknown what led up to the two-vehicle crash at the Western Fresno intersection, but investigators are piecing together evidence. One report indicated that Lopez was driving an SUV at the time of the collision.
Sadly, the Fresno man was pronounced dead at the scene. It’s unknown if speed, drugs and or alcohol were factors in the collision at this time.
