Head-on Crash in Victorville Leaves Two Dead
VICTORVILLE, Calif. (Dec. 4, 2019) — A deadly two-vehicle collision was reported Tuesday night on D Street near the 15 Freeway in Victorville.
Two drivers died in the crash including 28-year-old David Ponciano Lopez. The second motorist has not yet been identified.
The collision took place at 10:42 a.m. in the 16300 block of D Street near Sherman Way on December 3, 2019, according to the Victorville Fire Department.
Deputies with the Victorville Station were sent to the scene with paramedics to help those involved including David Lopez who died at the scene and a second person who they performed CPR on. The second person died at the hospital.
The vehicles involved were a white Chevy Colorado and a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan. The vehicles were in the westbound lanes of D Street, suffering from major front-end damage from the head-on crash.
Police closed down D Street for several hours to allow the Major Accident Investigation Team from the police department to process the scene.
