David Lowndes, 44, ID’d as Suspect in Clovis DUI Crash on Herndon Avenue
CLOVIS, CA (June 21, 2022) – Authorities detained David Lowndes after a DUI crash near Herndon Avenue and Sunnyside Avenue in Clovis.
Police determined that the 44-year-old Clovis man was under the influence when the accident occurred on Monday night.
The incident began when David Lowndes was driving a car west on Herndon Avenue near Sunnyside Avenue in Clovis. At the same time, a male pedestrian was crossing the street.
Pedestrian Hit and Critically Injured by Car
Police said he then struck the man in front of the Habit restaurant. The Fresno Bee and FOX 26 News, wrote that the collision took place on June 20 shortly after 9 p.m.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the victim who ended up suffering from serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed him to a hospital and listed him in critical condition. The reports did not release the name of the wounded patient.
Meanwhile, police soon arrested and booked David Lowndes into the Fresno County Jail on suspicion of DUI. The Clovis DUI crash is still under investigation.
