Bakersfield Man, 43, Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on Rosedale Highway
KERN COUNTY, Calif. (March 30, 2022) — David Shane McGowan, 43, of Bakersfield, died Monday in a two-vehicle collision on Rosedale Highway, just west of Renfro Road.
The traffic accident happened about 6:42 p.m. on Monday, March 28th, according to the Kern County coroner’s office.
The Bakersfield man allegedly lost control of his BMW 3 Series while traveling westbound on Rosedale Highway.
The car reportedly veered into eastbound traffic lanes and collided with a driver in a white 2013 Ford pickup truck. Paramedics responded and confirmed the death of David McGowan on scene. It’s unknown at this time if anyone riding in the pickup truck suffered injuries.
Meanwhile, police officers closed down the eastbound lanes of Rosedale Highway for two hours to conduct an investigation.
The cause of the fatal Bakersfield crash is still under investigation.
