David Onate, 23, Injured in Acton Crash on Northbound 14 Freeway
ACTON, CA (April 26, 2021) – David Onate was hospitalized after a fatal crash on the 14 Freeway in Acton on Friday.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 23-year-old Lancaster man as one of the injured people on April 23.
The incident began when David Onate was driving a 2011 Honda Accord on the northbound 14 Freeway in Acton. He was traveling north of Crown Valley Road at the time.
For an unknown reason, David Onate struck the rear of a 1999 Honda Accord. CHP said the 1999 Honda spun out of control and then came to a stop facing the wrong-way in the northbound lanes.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and took Onate to the Antelope Valley Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Medical personnel also rushed the four occupants of the 1999 Accord to the same hospital, where one of them died. One patient sustained major injuries while the other two survived with minor wounds.
The Antelope Valley Times and My News LA reported the collision at around 11:05 p.m. Meanwhile, officers forced the northbound lanes of the freeway to close for a time following the wreck.
