Man Fatally Struck by Vehicle on Highway 99
Modesto, CA (February 3, 2023) – David Pina, a 46-year-old male, died following a pedestrian accident that occurred on State Route Highway 99, the Modesto Bee News reported.
Our sources indicated the adult man was seen running in the northbound lanes of SR-99. In the area just south of Kansas Avenue, a passing vehicle struck the pedestrian. The horrible crash took place Thursday, February 2, around 11:41 p.m.
Deadly Pedestrian Accident in Modesto
When rescue teams arrived at the location, they found the victim lying in the first and second lanes of the highway. Responding paramedics performed life-saving measures to the pedestrian but he sadly succumbed to his injuries and passed away at the scene. The county coroner’s office later identified the deceased as David Pina, of Stockton.
The article published online mentioned police asked for help to identify and locate the driver involved in the catastrophic incident. However, it remained unclear whether the case was being investigated as a hit-and-run collision.
Detectives continue to gather information to determine several unclear factors surrounding the deadly pedestrian accident on Highway 99 in Modesto.
